According to the statistics of the Department of Health and Welfare, about 1.6 million people had sought medical attention yearly for the cause of chronic wounds. Wound care dressing after treatment was recognized as a common treatment. Larger wounds took much longer to heal, therefore, the wounds were covered with a large area of gauze to isolate them from outside air and moisture in clinical practice to improve the efficiency of medication and reduce the risk of infection. When the wounds were covered with gauze, it was difficult for the medical staff to visually observe the actual condition of the wound, which was hardly recognized by patients. This study developed a wound wearable monitoring device with a self-designed pH sensor, moisture sensor, and wearable system. The developed sensor patch would be integrated with clinical gauze to reduce the conflicts in the clinical healthcare process. The status of wound recovery was assessed by measuring the amount of tissue fluid exuded from the wound. It could also transmit signals via Wi-Fi, and promptly display the signal on the monitoring terminal. The final results were recorded in the database for follow-up or real-time analysis. The experimental results show that the pH detection of the proposed device could reach 0.01 pH / mV, the moisture detection could reach 0.06 percent / mV, and the response time was 0.1 second. Under a framework of multi-bed wireless transmission, the device endurance was about 14-16 hours and missing data rate was less than 1%. We hope that the proposed device in present study would improve the burden of clinical medical care and enhance the vision of wounds monitoring and telemedicine.
